The Lib Dems have announced that we would invest an additional £38 million in schools and colleges across Surrey over the next Parliament.

This funding for Surrey would reverse cuts to frontline school and college budgets, protect funding per pupil in real terms and ensure that no school loses out from changes to funding arrangements.

£1.25 million of the funding would be spent on protecting the Pupil Premium, introduced by the Lib Dems to help the most disadvantaged children.

Children in Surrey are being taught in overcrowded classes by overworked teachers - but Theresa May does not care. Under the Conservatives, funding per pupil is set for the biggest cuts in a generation, while billions of pounds are being spent on divisive plans to expand selective grammar schools and "free" schools.

This extra £38 million of funding would ensure that no school and no child loses out. We would reverse crippling Tory cuts to school budgets and invest to ensure that every child has the opportunity to succeed. School funding cuts are a huge issue In Surrey. Despite political differences, Surrey County Council's conservative administration recently unanimously agreed a Lib Dem motion to oppose these cuts and wrote to the Government highlighting the damaging impact they will have on children's education in Surrey.

A landslide victory for the Conservatives in the General Election would allow Theresa May to take parents across the country for granted and cut our schools to the bone. Only the Liberal Democrats can provide the strong opposition that Britain needs to stand up for Surrey's schools.

Vote for the Liberal Democrats on 8th June and help to Change Britain's Future for good.
