Residents' Survey being sent to 12,000 Households

Surveys returned

Lib Dem councillors met to look at the surveys returned so far : Cllr Jonathan Lees organised the meeting

Epsom & Ewell's Lib Dem Focus teams are in the process of rolling out a survey on local issues to 12,000 households in Epsom and Ewell. This is the largest survey they have conducted so far.

College ward was the first to receive the two-page survey on subjects such as Epsom Hospital, Parking, Recycling, Young and Older People and hundreds have been received back in the past two weeks. The plan is to analyse each ward being surveyed and to publish the results in a future issue of Focus and on this website. A further analysis across all wards covered will form the basis of next year's election Manifesto.

Our Autumn Survey can be found on this website, see the list on the Home page or the Related Link below. The survey can be printed and returned to our Freepost address given on the survey form itself. No stamp is required (though using a stamp does save us money).

Cllr Alison Kelly, who represents Town ward and delivers the Lib Dems' budget speech, says "In these difficult times, it's really important that the council spends its money in accordance with the priorities stated by our residents. We have always insisted on asking people what's important to them, so that we can base our budget and define our key objectives in line with what people say they want. The ruling Residents' Party in Epsom & Ewell persist in saying that they don't need to consult residents, but many councils now operate an online budget simulator. This gives residents a number of options to say what's important (or indeed, not important) and to then see how it would affect the council's budget and their own council tax."
