Butternut squash : expensive to buy, but easy to grow and tasty to eat

A new organisation was launched in on Tuesday 2nd December : Epsom & Ewell Food Growing Group.

It was agreed that the purpose of the Group would be to increase local awareness of the need and desirability of growing more food locally and to increase the amount of food being grown in the borough over the next few years, by a variety of means. The organisation will not be promoting gardening specifically, since it recognises there are a variety of other local groups already involved in this kind of activity. The Group hopes to be able to have a stand at the Herald of Spring event which takes place annually in February at Bourne Hall.

If you would like to become involved in helping to get this new venture going, contact Julie Morris.
