Cllr Lees (l) and Vince Cable MP, recently described by Peter Oborne (Daily Mail) as "beyond doubt the most popular politician in Britain"

An event to be held on Saturday 4th October at Bourne Hall seeks to attract over 1000 local young people.

The day will involve a large number of free events and workshops for youngsters between 13 and 17 years, plus a BBQ. It starts at 11.30 am and ends at 4.30 pm. Cllr Jonathan Lees (Stamford) who is also Parliamentary Spokesman for Epsom & Ewell Lib Dems said "I very much hope young people will take advantage of this and go along to see the activities. I'm told that fencing and judo displays will take place and there will be live music."

With a young family of his own, Cllr Lees has championed the needs of young people since being elected to the borough council : he pressed the council (and was successful) in getting the needs of the 11-19 age group listed as a priority and wants better use of Hook Road Arena as a recreation facility.
