Local Residents have their say on Lintons Centre

7.36.10pm BST (GMT +0100) Thu 9th Aug 2007

A public meeting on 2nd August was attended by upwards of 50 residents from the Lintons Lane area, concerned at development proposals for the Lintons Centre nearby.

Tim Murphy, chairman of Epsom & Ewell Liberal Democrats who also acted as chairman for the meeting, took a note of all the comments made and will be writing to the Planning Department summarising the views of those present. Lib Dem and Residents' Party councillors listened quietly to the views of local residents after the audience was told of the restrictions on local councillors who must not express a view on a "live" planning application. Many of those present expressed disappointment that neither the planning applicants nor a council officer could be present - seemingly a change in council policy. It is hoped to post a copy of the letter sent to the council on this website in due course.

In the meantime, contact Tim Murphy on 01372 741393 or timmurphy4@btinternet.com for details of the letter sent to the council regarding this planning application.
