
Alison Kelly was first elected to the council in 2007 and re-elected in 2011.
Alison Kelly has lived in Epsom for some 25 years, now in Whitehorse Drive (almost opposite Rosebery School) where her daughter was a pupil. She worked as a teacher, then retrained as a computer programmer and is now a Business Analyst with Philips. Her particular interests lie in the areas of energy efficiency and recycling.
On Epsom & Ewell Borough Council (EEBC), Alison currently has the following roles:
Alison is also the Secretary of the Lib Dem group, the main opposition group on the borough council.
Alison became involved in local politics because of her dismay at the number of planning decisions that she felt were severely depleting open areas and back garden spaces. As a result, during her first term on the council, she was directly involved in deciding local planning issues on behalf of the residents of Town Ward. She is now the main opposition spokesperson on budgetary and financial policy.
In her spare time, Alison enjoys jogging, cycling, gardening and baking cakes.
