Livingstone Park Water Tower - Public Meeting at 10.00 am on Saturday 7th November

The old water tower has been boarded up since before the houses were built
The expected formal planning application by London & Quadrant Housing Trust to convert the redundant water tower on Livingstone Park for housing has now been registered by the borough council. Lib Dem ward councillors have called a Public Meeting to be held on site next to the Water Tower at 10.00 am on Saturday 7th November.
The Housing Trust's proposal is to build a 13 storey tower block to provide 4 two-bedroom apartments next to the existing tower, which would be repaired and refurbished to contain lifts and a staircase.
Local Councillors will be present to give information about this application and about the planning process. Council rules require that councillors must not make up their minds about any planning application until the meeting at which it is to be determined. Accordingly councillors will not express any opinion on the merits of this application at this stage. They will however be keen to hear the views of local residents for or against the proposals.
Residents should send their views to the Chief Planning Officer at the Town Hall, The Parade, Epsom, quoting reference 09/00465/FUL.
The date of the planning committee to decide upon this planning application is not known as yet.
